Here is the vocal version of the same track played by Axwell at Club Glowin Washington DC, by Steve Angello in San Bernardino, at the Escape From Wonderland event and by Sebastian in Miami! He dropped this version at the end of the mix and that made the crowd so crazy…

Preview: Thomas Gold – Sing 2 Me [Axtone]

I believe that alongside Alesso, Thomas Gold is one of the biggest breakthrough producer this year with massive releases for Dirty South‘s Starphazing, Mark Knight‘s Toolroom Records, Sander von Doorn‘s Doorn Records etc.

It looks like he is going to be back soon with a big big hit called “Sing 2 Me” promised to Axwell for his label Axtone. We can already expect the whole Swedish House Mafia track-listing this hit alongside with their friends; Dirty Southand co. But we cannot blame them this track sounds huge! It will be released in a near future according to Axwell, stay tuned!

DJ Mag’s Top 100 poll has become an influential ratification of the hottest DJ’s out over the past few years and is now announcing the results for the second year in a row with the poll being fully based on a public vote. In conjunction with Trackitdown, a widely known digital market for electronic dance music, an annual buzz as to whom is becoming the best new entry, taking the largest climb upwards and whom is elected the winner begins in post-summer to run through to the prestigious Amsterdam Dance Event – the week-long festival which is becoming more significant to the EDM industry by the day.

In terms of confusion concerning the results; many have come to judge and rate the world’s DJ’s along with their placings on the poll which, in truth, has come to be based principally on the CD-spinner’s performances on the charts and as producers instead of what it ultimately was intended to rate – mixing and general DJ skills. Although skillful discjockey’s like James Zabiela may not place themselves and their outstanding knowledge on everything mixing and transitions at the forefront, one should keep in mind the top 100 results are only approximations as to who are the most renowned names in modern-day clubland, despite the fact that an appearance on the poll is indeed a prestigious award to any DJ and/or producer.

In an epoch where DJ’s are like the modern-day rockstars and attract thousands and thousands of raving club-goers to, if not such festivals as Ultra in Miami, Tomorrowland, Electric Daisy, Electric Zoo and Sensation, weekly events in nearby clubs and venues across the globe, this poll is now a solid and utmostly intriguing statement as to whom has had a successful year and who has not. Be sure to scim through the listed results after the break and compare them to the results of 2010.

Congratulations to David Guetta for taking over pole position after a 4 year supremacy of Armin van Buuren, to Avicii, Afrojack and Swedish House Mafia for fighting themselves into the top 10, to Skrillex for the best new entry, to Calvin Harris for the biggest climb and a big congratulations to talents like Hardwell, Alesso, AN21 and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike for finally breaking themselves into the DJ Mag top 100 poll.

The big announcement from the super group Swedish House Mafia has arrived and its REALLY big.  First of all, they revealed two new shows: one in the heart of NYC and the other in Milton Keynes, England.  The NYC show will be held at non other than Madison Square Garden and it will be the Garden’s first ever electronic/DJ show (SHM making history).  This show is scheduled for December 16th:

The second show will be held at the National Bowl in Milton Keynes, England and is scheduled for July 14th, 2012.  In addition, the group is also announcing their brand new album called One Night Stand.  There is no release date as of yet but the their “Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall” remix as well as their new collaborative song with Knife Party “Antidote” will definitely be the leading singles from the album.  Tickets for the MSG show will go on sale Friday, Sept 30th at 10am EST on LiveNation and Ticketmaster.  Tickets for the National Bowl show will go on sale Friday, Sept 30th at 9am on SeeTickets, Gigs and Tours, and Ticketmaster UK.

With SHM invading New York City mid December and with Avicii leading NYC into 2012, I really dont know if this holiday season could get any better for NYC EDM fans.  Its been quite a week for NYC and this awesome genre of music and I know these shows will not let us down.  Make sure you check out the sweet promotional video below and get pumped for SHM to come to NYC!

Release: Swedish House Mafia – Save the World Music Video [Ax Digital]

Having previously released two videos to accompany their summer hit, one third of the Mafia, swedish producer Axwell, has just released a third and by far most entertaining music video. While the attempt at creating an original art piece with the heroic dogs as the centerpiece was different to say the least, I believe that this latest installment is by far more successful at showcasing the true nature of the song. With this never ending uplifting breath of fresh air this remains one of my favorite of the year.

Preview: R3hab – The Bottle Song (DJ Funkadelic Remix) [Wall Recrods]

The final portion of this year has been all about R3hab, after emerging on to the scene so quickly with little help from the Dirty Dutch leaders, Dj R3hab has had incredible year. With numerous releases on Afrojack’s very own ‘Wall Records‘ such as ‘The Bottle Song‘, ‘Prutataa‘ and ‘Sending My Love‘ that featured ‘Max C‘ on the vocals, has shown us that R3hab is able to climb to the top and stay among some of the highest and well respected Dutch djs out there. With numerous amounts of remixes, track, that have been supported by the likes of Afrojack, David Guetta, Swedish House Mafia and many remix request coming from top Pop artist such as Jennifer Lopez, Gloria Estefan, there aren’t any doubt that he will be around from awhile.

After having his single ‘The Bottle Song‘ released in April by the likes of ‘Wall Records’, R3hab’s single is back and this time with a twist curtsy by the man Dj Funkadelic. With support coming by Tiesto and Hardwell, Funkadelic kept the roots of R3hab’s track and added a little more of a big room sound to crunch club speakers across the globe. With no release date mentioned, stay tuned for some additional news and enjoy the preview.

Check out Tiesto dropping the original in his set in Toronto.

Preview: Tim Mason – Anima [Size Records]

Tiesto recently featured Tim Mason‘s newest single ‘Anima‘ on his radio show ‘Club Life‘. The track has been supported by Steve Angello from the Swedish House Mafia for quite some time now and featured in Tim and Steve’s set many times. The Brighton based DJ/Producer is about to release his 2nd single on ‘Size Records‘ but this time the track is more of melodic based track rather than his last single ‘The Moment‘. ‘Anima‘ is a high and energetic track with large synth-leads and a pounding kick and is ideal for a Steve Angello dj set.

Tim has stayed busy since his last release on Size, putting out excellent remixes such as  ’PNAU‘, and his remix he did of the track by the Red Hot Chilli PeppersOtherside‘ has definitely made his mark in the EDM scene. Stay tuned for a release date and more info. Enjoy!

Preview: AN21 & Max Vangeli – Fresh Start [Size]

Last year it seemed that every other week this team of AN21 and Max Vangeli were coming out with another track or remix but this year has been a little different. It seems that AN21, the brother of SHM Steve Angello and his producing partner Max Vangeli have step out of the scene a bit to stay focus and work on their up coming album which is starting to consume quite a bit of anticipation around the EMD world. With such strong backing from the Swedish House Mafia, there are always high expectations for everything these two put out. With their recent track ‘People of The Night‘ where they teamed up with the legendary Teisto and featured Kate Elsworth and ‘Whisper‘ who features Example on vocals, we are beginning to see light on the form of this album.

This time the two are back with another “fresh start”, AN21 and Max have been testing out a new track at their gigs entitled ‘Fresh Start‘. The track has a heavy melodic build-up that is similar to the sound in their remix of ‘The Island with brother Steve by Pendulum, which brings chills all the way to the drop and through out the track. There hasn’t been any official word of a release but we can assume it will follow the rest of their recent singles, which are headed towards the album release.

Release: Tommy Trash – Future Folk [Musical Freedom]

With support from none other than Tiesto and the Swedish House Mafia guys, Tommy Trash has really made an impact on the EDM scene in the past year with his own individual and distinctive sound. After his huge hit ‘The End’ which has been a staple in almost every DJ’s set over the summer he returns with a brand new track that features his distinctive melodic progressive breaks and an equally infectious electro drop that will be sure to drive dancefloor’s wild all over the world. Out now on Tiesto’s own Musical Freedom label and available from beatport. Enjoy!

News: Swedish House Mafia Madison at Square Garden & Milton Keynes Bowl confirmed

The rumors has been going around for a couple of weeks now with the code that was apparently cracked;but nothing was certain until a few minutes ago…

This is now official the trio called the Swedish House Mafia composed of Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso and Axwell will be throwing two enormous shows at probably the most iconic stadiums in the world; Madison Square Garden (25,000 capacity) in New York City and Milton Keynes Bowl (65,000 capacity) in the UK. These will also probably be some of the biggest electronic music events held by one artist (SHM).

So start planning people because this is going to be some crazy ass shows;

Also at the end of the video presentation there are two hints for other monster shows which seem to be happening in Brazil and Australia.

And finally the confirmation of the release of their live album right before Christmas ($$$) entitled “One Night Stand” which will feature their new track “Antidote” as well as their remix of “Coldplay – Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall“.
